Darkness

Darkness swirls around
Enveloping me
Taking my breath away
Choking, struggling
Against the dark
Reaching out
Feeling nothing
Searching
For the light
To lead me back
From this hell
I find myself in
In the distance
What is that I see?
A glimmer?
Or is it just my imagination
Wanting, needing
The light to take me
Warm me in its embrace
Hold me forever
Away from the darkness.
